I’m a big fan of Argentina steakhouses and Medellín has several including Lucio Carbon y Vino, which is located in barrio Jardines in Envigado. This area has become a popular restaurant zone in Envigado.
A friend living in Envigado recommended Lucio Carbon y Vino to me. He said it was his favorite restaurant in Envigado with great steaks. We recently tried out the restaurant for the first time and agree that it has very good steaks.
Lucio is very popular with locals and it’s the highest rated steakhouse in Envigado on TripAdvisor. In the U.S., we’d call Lucio a steakhouse, but here in South America it’s known as a parilla, a restaurant where grilled meats are served.
Lucio caters to a more sophisticated, adult clientele. The charming interior offers an intimate atmosphere suitable for any occasion, from business lunches to a night out with friends, or a romantic dinner date.
On the weekends and holidays, Lucio Carbon y Vino can get very busy so I would recommend calling for a reservation. It’s a relatively small and cozy restaurant so it can also fill up at other times.
Our Recent Experience at Lucio Carbon y Vino
We were in Envigado recently around lunchtime and decided try out this steakhouse for the first time.
My Colombian wife and I decided to share a steak for lunch and we chose the Angus Rib-eye steak, which is sizable at 400 grams and cost 75,000 pesos ($26).
Based on a recommendation from the waitress we also decided to try the fried cheese appetizer that comes with a jalapeno jam.
The steak was perfectly cooked and was very tasty and sufficient for both of us for lunch. The fried cheese appetizer was also quite tasty.
The total for the two of us for lunch including a shared steak, juices, an appetizer and salad plus the tip was 115,000 pesos ($40).
I believe that Lucio Carbon y Vino as well as these three previously reviewed steakhouses belong in a list of the top steak restaurants in the Medellín metro area.
