I ran across this post about security in Colombia and since I can’t say it any better than the UK journalist, I thought I’d share the link.
Much of what he writes rings true with my experience here, and what I´ve heard from talking to Colombians and other foreigners who have been here a few years. Give me a few more months and I’ll post a similar list with that same sense of authority!
I have just started a blog about Colombia and was going to, well still am going to write about security in Colombia. I’m from Ireland and due the the reputation it has had over the years I know how people feel about travelling to these places. Thanks for sharing the link.
Medellin is one place I have not been to yet, so would be interested if you want to write an aritcle or if I could use one of your current ones.
Hi Don, great so see another site about Colombia. Afraid I don’t have the time to write up an original article, nor would I want you to reproduce one from Medellin Living, though you’re more than welcome to share if you want. (I realize it’s not the same thing).
Here’s a post I wrote on my other blog with some taxi safety tips for Colombia, and all of Latin America –

And here are some safety tips for Medellin specifically —
