It started off as a simple invite to a beer factory for some beer tasting, and ended in the drunk scoffing of whoppers at Burger King by midnight.

It wasn’t until 2 hours before we were scheduled to arrive at the 3 Cordilleras Brewery that I realized the night could get a little crazy. I’d just been told that the brewery was in fact having its 2-year birthday celebration, with live music and a ridiculously cheap entry fee of $8 USD for 7 large beers.

Our fate was sealed when we arrived to a packed house, with the band blaring out I’m Yours by Jason Mraz and the barmaids handing out boutique tap beers at will, which are the best beers you will drink in Colombia.

We met up with a bunch of couchsurfers and had a great night of drinking and dancing. Not the Colombian salsa type either, proper drunk Aussie dancing.

Waking up the next morning with a slight hangover and still tasting the amber ale in my mouth, I decided to put pen to paper and share a great night out in Medellin, Colombia.

Awesome bar, great music, awesome value, great beers.

  1. I finally got to try some 3 Cordillera on my last night in Medellin (and my last night in all of Colombia as well). Definitely the best beer I drank while I was in Colombia. I wish I had known about the factory tour/tasting…

    • People I am looking forward to tasting this beer. Saya beer in Bolivia is the best south American. Check it out in la Paz! Only there. Can’t wait to try this on Thursday!
