Breakfast 2014: Festival with Franz Ferdinand, Miami Horror and More.

Medellín is getting ready for the second annual musical festival Breakfest, which is expected to become an important cultural event. With the slogan “The mountains ringing”, the event seeks to bring “for the first time to the city of Antioquia the big names of contemporary music.”

“The Antioquia music scene lacked an entertainment experience that showed alternative genres”, say the organizers of events recognized in Bogota as Stereo Picnic and Soma; so in 2013 they ventured to present the capital of Antioquia “a commitment to alternative genres” and which in October will have its second edition.

Franz Ferdinand and Los Cafres are some of the international bands that will be present. On stage the Australian band Miami Horror will also be performing. The local scene is represented by Dangerous Crew, Astronaut and Mitu, a duo from Bogota.

The festival, which again “have a market of independent designer goods, food, and art”, and seeks to establish itself as an inclusive event.

Breakfest 2014 will take place on October 4 in Parque Norte. The tickets will be on sale from June 9 through Ticket Express.
