Uno Nueve Siete Cero : an intense history of Medellín is the name of this conference taking place at the renovated Museum of Modern Art.
It has limited seating and free entry and is hosted by the University of Antioquia
Is it possible to write a history about Medellín today that strays from the dualist conception of the city and the vision of violence as the metastory that explains everything? A good start would be to advance towards an intense history, a history that’s unsatisfied with the present, a history that attempts social processes but also the ephemerous and the conceivable. A history that’s alive, that looks to plant new perspectives, subjects, and problems and alternative sources of research.
With this showing of research from the History Research Group of Universidad de Antioquia, the MAMM is getting closer to the homages exhibition “In Medellín everything is very clear” from the current perspective towards a crucial decade of the country: 1970.
