AltaVoz is an annual music festival in Medellin. The festival is three days long and hosts artist from around the world from a variety of different genres. This years show had almost 40 different bands.

I am still kind of kicking myself for missing the first day of the event. It was a day of Hard Rock and Metal. The second day was dedicated to Rap/HipHop and Reggae, which I gladly passed up. The third day I finally made it out with my friend Mario, and we had an amazing time. The day was filled with Ska, Electronic, and Alternative Rock. Some of the bands that really stood out to me were Mojiganga, Pornomotora, Tr3sdecorazón, Tom Sawyer, and Artefacto.

If you’re going to Altavoz in the future, make sure to wear sunscreen, wear clothes that you don’t mind getting dirty, and bring some food and water. I would skip bringing a belt, as many events make you check it at the door.
