  1. Hi, all. Love your site, love all you do for the expat community, BUT….. This list has all upscale and expensive options. As a paisa and a local for 15 years now, I can tell you that one of the benefits of Medellin are a lot of the smaller and amazing little places all over the Medellin area for hair, nails, brows, beauty. You are missing a LOT of places and you only covered the swanky range.

    • Hi Carolina, thanks for your feedback. I’d hoped to include a range of places for all budgets, so apologise if I missed some. If you have any recommendations you’d like me to include, please let me know. In the mean time, I’ll keep researching and update this article. Thanks again!

  2. In Livana Salon I had the worst experience ever in a beauty salon in Colombia. It wasn’t worth the hype!
They tangled my hair so bad during the dyeing process, that it took than an hour to detangle the rats nest they created. Most of the time the hairdresser was busy other clients and didn’t have time to keep an eye on my hair.

During one instance, I was moved from my seat and they sat a guy to cut his hair (totally fine), but my stuff was bad and tea were still there and ended up with the guys hair all over, even inside my tea cup.

When I was complaining about it in front of the manager, she’s completely lost it and couldn’t handle criticism well. She used the excuse that my hair was “destroyed” from the beginning. And went on to say it was impossible that I’ve received a bad service because “all” of their clients were always really happy with the results. An absolute waste of time and money. I do not recommend this place at all!
