The Story Of Juan Valdez

Enjoying coffee at a Juan Valdez Cafe in Bogota

The Juan Valdez cafe adjacent the Fernando Botero museum in Bogota was the first place I enjoyed a cup of authentic Colombian coffee.  When I arrived in Medellin, the cafe in Parque Lleras became my favorite place to meet people because it was so easily recognizable to foreigners and locals alike.  Offering a Starbucks-style experience from the pastries to free wi-fi and comfortable seating, the Juan Valdez cafes are apparently a new offering in the country.

Juan Valdez: The Most Famous Colombian is a brief article posted over at Good Times in Medellin Colombia tracing the history of Colombia’s famous coffee ambassador.
