As silly as it seems now, back in 2009 before arriving in Colombia, I knew about as much of Medellin as I heard on the HBO comedy series Entourage.
In the early seasons of the show, the main character, an actor named Vinny Chase, had a serious desire to play Pablo Escobar in Medellin The Film.
While Medellin The Film as seen in this trailer is pure fiction, Johnny Depp previously purchased the movie rights to Killing Pablo by Mark Bowden (author of Blackhawk Down), and it looked as though a movie was in the works.
Unfortunately, production seemed to falter in 2008, and a big Hollywood movie has yet to be made.

Is there a documentation about Melledin you can recommend? Preferably one that does not (only) focus on the drug lords but on everyday life in the city today.
