Great Insights Into Colombian Culture

Medellin

Just as in many Latin countries, the Paisas are frequently late. They may tell you 7:00PM but do not expect to see them until 7:30 to 7:45. No matter how much you complain, you will not change their culture so just get used to it. It can be very frustrating to a westerner. To the locals, it is no importa! — Medellin Colombia Culture Gram

If you’re planning a visit to Colombia, or simply want a better feel for the cultural norms, than check out the Medellin Travel Guide’s new Medellin Colombia Culture Gram.

The blog post covers a variety of topics from discussing the country’s wars with the locals to race, homosexuality, and on the lighter side, dancing and meeting a woman’s family.

After spending 6 months here, I can identify with most of what is written.  Great info to be aware of before you arrive!

  • I wish more people would write sites like this that are actually helpful to read. With all the garbage floating around on the web, it is rare to read a site like yours instead.
