Marc Anthony, the American singer, first popped on my radar when he married Jennifer Lopez, but it wasn’t until his recent song with Pitbull that I really heard him sing.
It wasn’t that song, but his rendition of “Aguanile” by Hector Lavoe that turned me into a fan of his salsa music. And I’m not alone, he’s one of the top selling salsa artists, with 5 Grammy’s and 12 million albums sold worldwide.
If performing on American Idol can help inspire others to start listening to salsa, I’m all for it.
Below is the film version of the song, sung by Marc Anthony in El Cantante.
