The name 9010 sounds like something futuristic, something we do not even know about yet.
Now that I think about it, those descriptions could apply in some cases to the great new working space I stopped by recently, a place you can focus on your new startup, the big project you are trying to finish, and even get free legal advice on how to start your own business.
That’s its name, 9010, and it has a nice little story behind it, in addition to already being a nice and resourceful place, interesting name or not.
Alejandro Camargo, the man behind 9010, told me he wants 90 percent of the business world to have all the amenities that only 10 percent enjoy right now, and he wants that 90-percent segment to have flexibility in their ventures.
For example, let’s say you’re a young entrepreneur, someone who wants to live overseas while they get their new web development business going.
Maybe you’re looking for a space to work, something a little more professional than your apartment, a place where there is a receptionist to take your calls, a place for you to make calls and to have great Wi-Fi and minimal distractions.
Or maybe you want to work from home but you want the services of a receptionist, who can take your calls but transfer them to you when necessary.
Those are just two of the great options you have at 9010.
The office is on the 9th floor of a high-rise along the Milla de Oro, the city’s wealthy business district, where you have easy access to great restaurants and cafes, in addition to being part of the Poblado district, where most foreigners stay or live while they are here.
From your work space, you could have a view of the valley, something that always makes the work day better, and if you decide to get takeout from a restaurant nearby, you can have your lunch on the rooftop terrace, where the views are even better.
In other words, Alejandro has found a place and created a service that can only help you become the best entrepreneur you can be.
Let’s go through all of the amenities he offers, shall we?
1. Sala de Juntas: 80,000 pesos for two hours, plus tax (about $45).
In this conference room, you can have official meetings and make professional presentations to important clients, or important people you would like as clients.
Or you might just want to have a brainstorming session with your team at your new startup.
Either way, the conference room at 9010 is a great place for it.
2. Oficina Virtual: 150,000 pesos per month, plus tax (about $80).
This will be like having your own office.
You get a business address, a landline number, a receptionist, an email address, and a coworking space for 4 hours per week.
This gives you flexibility to schedule meetings there when necessary, but to otherwise work from your computer where you want.
3. Estaciones de Trabajo en Coworking: 400,000 pesos per month, plus tax (about $250).
This is much like the Oficina Virtual, only it comes with free legal advice for tasks revolving around opening your own business here.
The paperwork for a startup can be very complicated, especially if Spanish isn’t your first langauge. Rent space at 9010, and you can get legal process started for free.
4. Módulos Independientes
Consider this an ala carte menu for your business. You can just pick and choose what you feel you need. Choices are below, and prices are negotiable.
- Phone line and receptionist
- Phone line that transfers to your home land lane
- Business address
- Work station by the hour
- Work station by the day
- Seems like there’s something for everyone.
Now I know why I see those MedellInnovation signs everywhere.
