The Parque Explora is also one of the most well-known sites to visit in Medellin. It is truly the best outdoor experience, with over 300 interactive experiences to choose from.

The exhibits range from a tropical aquarium, to a scientific television studio to technological exhibits.

It is one of the best places to bring children as the attractions will keep them entertained all day. Admission to Parque Explora is COP 18,000 or $9.76 USD per person.

3. Medellin Interactive Museum

The Medellin Interactive Museum is also a must see. It is an innovative, futuristic and high-tech museum consisting of several interactive games and 3-D animation exhibits. You really will use all of your five senses at this place.

This museum is also a great addition to add to your itinerary, especially if you have little ones. The admission to The Medellin Interactive Museum is completely free.

4. Planetarium

If you are interested in astronomy, then the Planetarium of Medellin is a must see for you. This observatory is a computer-controlled planetarium with over 300 high-tech telescopes that will allow you to put your planetary skills to the test.

The admission for the Planetarium of Medellin is COP 12,000 or $6.50 USD.

5. Mariposario Selva Viva

The Mariposario Selva Viva is one of the most beautiful places in Medellin. It is a butterfly sanctuary consisting of 1,200 butterflies from 40 different species. It’s the perfect place for both children and adults.

The Mariposario Selva Viva also offers a learning experience, showing the entire process of a butterfly’s life. The admission is COP 7,000 or $3 USD per person.

  1. The admission to Parque Explora costs 18,000 COP ($9.76 USD) not the 7,000 COP listed in this blog post, I was there earlier this month. And the Planetarium admission costs 12,000 COP ($6.50 USD), not the 26,676 COP listed. These current admission prices (tarifas) can be found on the Parque Explora and Planetario Medellin websites.
