Colombians celebrate their version of Valentine´s Day, called Love and Friendship Day, on the third Friday and Saturday each September.
Commercialization and the American influence stills seems to have creeped down here with regard to Valentine´s Day as I´ve seen at least one club fly promoting this weekend´s events around the holiday!

Andrew, as far as I know, Valentine’s Day still isn’t a big deal in Colombia. I was in Medellin for it last year, and it’s not nearly as omnipresent as it is in the USA. Some restaurants in Parque Lleras will have special dinner deals that night, but I think you’re fine if you stick to the Day of Love & Friendship holiday later in the year.
