Medellin Living

Even though El Penon (aka El Penol) is only about an hour outside central Medellin, I didn’t make it there. It’s always good to leave something unseen to make return trips worthwhile. In the meantime, this video did a great job of showing me the views I missed.

Robin, my friend behind The Arepa, has just begun a new weekly radio show at 101.9 FM, a station run by the University de Antioquia.  It airs on Saturday nights at 9 PM (local time).

For the picture of the week, here’s a quick shot of the lake in the Botanical Gardens.  There are a bunch of ducks and very pretty lily pads that I enjoyed quite a bit.  The gardens are very nice…and free.  If it was in the United States, I would say that it was more like [...]

For the photo of the week, I wanted just to show your average scene near the center of Medellin.  This was taken right next to Parque Barrio on a slow Tuesday night.  The lights are still up from the holidays, of course.

For the photo of the week, this is a picture from La Catedral (The Cathedral) which used to be a prison built by Pablo Escobar, and is now a monastery.  It is located way up in the hills of Envigado.
