I lived for one month at Casa Kiwi Hostel in Poblado.  Lots of travelers always passing through and it is easy to meet people to go out there.  It can be a bit noisy though, as people often drink at night on the patio, and come back at late hours from the clubs.  Lots of cool little cafes and shops opening up along the same street.
